Starfire has become one of our nation's leaders in providing affordable and enjoyable golf for junior players. The par three layout presents 9 holes of golf with 2 holes on each
green - one of regular size plus another that is 4 inches wide. The shorter flag on each green indicates the wider hole, which also can be fun to play for beginners and for players
of all levels that simply want to have more fun! Try it out! Great for a warm-up for the championship course, or even after a regular round! Both courses were in outstanding shape
on our late April visit!
The Starfire Golf Cluyb, formerly Scottsdale Country Club, is a public golf course located in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. Starfire Golf Club is a daily fee course that provides an
exceptional golf experience at an affordable price. The property underwent renovations which were completed in the summer of 2018, creating a full-length driving range,
reconfigured Quire (now the "Mullican 9" -par 28), and the combined King and Hawk nines into "The King" 18-hole par 70 course.
On property are a putting and chipping area, rental clubs, Starfire Grille restaurant, banquet facilities, a full length driving range and golf lessons available from PGA golf
professionals.
The Mulligan 9 is a great short course geared towards beginners, families and those who do not have time to play a full round. It includes 8 par threes and 1 par four. Yardages
on the 4 tee boxes measure 1020, 1351, 1512, and 1660 yards - allowing choices for all levels of layers. The King is now a full length championship course with several beautiful
par threes that feature carries over water hazards.
The yardages and slope ratings on The King measure 6106 yards/124 slope, 5630 yards/114 slope - and for women 5084 yards/119 slope and 4467 yards with a slope of 107.
Once again - lots of choices on the layout which offers fairly level playing surfaces and good opportunities for scoring well.
On course yardages are posted on fairway blocks and on the cart paths at 100, 150 and 200 yards, with 150 yard stakes doubling as directional devices on all par fours and fives.
The tee boxes provide measurements to the center of the green on all par threes. Starfire is an aesthetically pleasing golf experience, and with a good, central location is
