Ak-Chin Southern Dunes is open to public play. Seasonal pricing also makes this a very affordable golf experience during the spring, summer and fall. The property features a
beautiful clubhouse with well stocked pro shop, a banquet facility, locker rooms, and restaurant/lounge serving breakfast and lunch menus. Tha Ak-Chin Indian Community owns
and operates a hotel-casino complex nearby. Click here for information on the Hotel-Casino.
The practice facilities are comprehensive with targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting green. On course yardage markers are present on sprinkler
heads - measured to the center of the green and Visage GPS located on carts provides accurate yardage information. Pin placement sheets are posted on the back of each cart.
The property is well maintained - up to the high standards of a Troon operated golf facility.
There are 6 sets of tees, affording all levels of players with the opportunity to choose a set that fits their game. The tips play to a whopping 7517 yards/141 slope, while the blacks
are nearly as challenging with a 138 slope and length of 7307 yards. Alternate sets play to distances and slopes measuring 6889 yards/131 slope, 6493 yards/126 slope, 6074
yards/121 slope and 5102 yards with a slope of 124 for ladies using the forward tees.
This is not your typical links style layout. Gorgeous mountain and desert scenery will make it apparent that you are not in Kansas anymore. Golfers will encounter over 100 soft
sand bunkers, some of them sod-faced and many of them deep and penal in nature. Water comes into play on just one hole - off the tee on the par four 10th. There are several
forced carries over natural areas, but the true challenge is to avoid the fairway traps and land in regulation on the putting surfaces that are often small and sloping. The fairways
are often wide and generally undulating.
Now open for public play - enjoy the wonderful scenery and terrific challenge - we highly recommend a round here. Those familiar with links style courses will appreciate this
traditional layout with the stunning mountain backdrops. For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
