STONECREEK GOLF CLUB (602) 953-9111)
Arizona golf course review
Stonecreek Golf Club is a links style golf course offering championship golf, surrounded by spectacular mountain views in the heart of Phoenix, AZ. Golfers will enjoy amenities
including a full service clubhouse with well stocked pro shop plus Up The Creek restaurant and Lounge, open daily (7:30-3pm) for breakfast and lunch. The Clubhouse also offers
banquet and outing facilities (indoor and out) for special events and outings.
The practice facilities are comprehensive and include a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting green. Player development programs with special
clinics and lessons of all types are available on property. Visitors looking for a place to stay can find comfortable accommodations at the adjacent Embassy Suites Hotel.
The golf course features rolling tree lined fairways with wonderful mountain backdrops amid plush conditioning from tee to green. Five sets of tee areas provide golfers of all
levels to choose a set that matches their skill level. The tips play to 6871 yards with a 131 slope, while alternate sets measure 6322/128 slope, 5937 125 slope for men and 13 for
women, 5453/ 126 slope for women and 5018 yards with a slope of 119 for ladies hitting from the forward tees.
40 soft sand bunkers are located near the landing zones along the manicured fairways or situated greenside, and water hazards come into play in some shape or form on 7 holes
. There also are several holes that feature natural areas (most of them with water) - with stretches of the track lined with thick brush along the right side of the fairway. This is true
on holes 4-8 on the front and 14-18 on the back side. We spotted several coyotes going in and out of these natural areas.
The green complexes are sometimes raised and are mildly undulating, with plentiful mounding awaiting mis-hit approaches. There also are numerous grass bunkers and
several dry desert washes that golfers will have to negotiate. The rolling fairways are generally wide, with mounding along the sides, with trees often ling one or both sides. On our
fall visit - the course was in excellent condition from tee to green.
Stonecreek is a beautiful course with fine service and amenities and is a good value for the Phoenix area. Pro Link GPS are mounted one each cart, and 200 yard makers are
present on the cart paths of most par fours and fives. For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
