PALM VALLEY GOLF CLUB - LAKE COURSE (623-935-2500)
Arizona Golf Course Review
The Lake course at Palm Valley is an executive style Hale Irwin design featuring eight par fours and ten par threes, in a pristine desert setting. This par 62 layout allows golfers to enjoy a quick round and
affords a great opportunity to work on the iron game. The conditioning from tee to green is excellent on this manicured design, which is the sister course to the par 72, 7000 yard Palm layout.
The combination of the two styles of golf courses, together with the excellent practice facilities make
this one of the most complete golf experiences in the valley. The targeted grass range that is part of the
PV Golf Center is lit for night practice throughout the year. On property near the clubhouse is a large
practice green for putting and chipping. Palm Valley also operates one of the best junior golf programs in the country.
Five sets of tees allow golfers to choose distances measuring 4745, 4346, 3747 and 3210 yards. From the back tees players will encounter 6 par fours that measure 400 yards plus - presenting ample
opportunity to use driver. The par threes - some demanding forced carries over desert or nearby water hazards, range in distance from 89 to 192 yards.
As with the Arthur Hills designed Palm Course, the Lake is well marked with yardages provided on the tee boxes of par threes, and on the fairways of par fours and fives at 100, 150 and 200 yards. Sand
Bunkering and water hazards are strategic and not overstated. This is an interesting yet comfortable round for all levels of golfers.
Rates at the Lake Course, as well as those on the Palm Course at Palm Valley, are reasonable year round, making golf here one of the best deals in the valley. For more information, visit our page for the
