LOS LAGOS GOLF CLUB (928-768-7778)
Las Vegas Golf Course Review
Los Lagos is the new kid on the block in the Laughlin area - and is perhaps also the best golf value. This Ted Robinson Sr championship design opened in 2008 and affords
golfers of all handicaps with an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful course that demands a relatively reasonable level of skill.
4 sets of tees play to distances and slopes measuring 6804 yards/126 slope, 6314 yards/118 slope, 5622 yards/113 slope and 4804 yards with a slope of 108 from the forward
tees. The fairways are gently rolling and provide wide landing zones, and golfers will also find plentiful room greenside to recover from slightly offline approaches. There are
consistently beautiful mountain views along the way.
Forty one soft sand bunkers line the fairways or are situated greenside, and water hazards come into play on 7 holes, with just 1 forced carry. Mounding separates some of the
parallel holes, and several par fours and fives have slopes that create bowl like effects off the tee. The conditioning and landscaping on our early spring visit were outstanding,
with the cascading waterfall and ponds on number 11 creating the most memorable golf hole.
The spring wildflowers were in bloom and provided a nice aesthetic effect as well. The layout finishes with a flourish, as the same pond comes into play off the tee on the # 4
handicapped par four 17th, and also greenside on the # 2 handicapped 446 yard par four 18th. The course features Bermuda fairways and tees (with winter rye over-seed) and a
mix of Bermuda and poa greens.
On property is a temporary clubhouse (full service clubhouse open in May 2009) with snack shop and pro shop. Practice facilities include a targeted grass range, short game area
with sand bunker and putting green. On course 150 yard stakes are positioned in the center of the green and sprinkler heads on the fairways are also marked. A pin placement
chart on the golf carts indicates the day's hole locations.
This is a wonderful layout with fine conditioning - and is a must play in the Laughlin area - highly recommended! For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link to their
