500 CLUB (623-492-9500) Golf Club
Arizona Golf Course Review 2/22/05
The 500 Club is a beautiful golf facility located in the secluded foothills of Northwest Phoenix. Besides the 18-hole championship course, The 500 club also boasts a nine-hole short course (with distances
ranging from 66 to 282 yards) and a complete practice facility with spacious grass range and putting/chipping greens. This is a perfect place to hone one's game - a beautiful desert setting, great
practice facilities, and an unitimidating championship layout.
The golf course is a Brian Whitcomb design that is a player friendly layout, affording mostly level lies
along a gently rolling terrain with several elevated tee boxes sculpted from the base of the foothills. Surrounded by desert and complimented by gorgeous mountain backdrops, The 500 Club provides a
pleasant golf experience for all levels of players. Three sets of tees play to yardages and slopes playing
to 6976/120, 6203/117 and 5581 yards with a 120 slope for ladies playing from the forward sets. The front nine is generally level, while the back side provides more elevation changes from tee to green.
On property is clubhouse that features a pro shop and a snack bar area that serves hot and cold sandwiches, snack items and beverages. The measuring system on course includes markings on the
cart paths and sprinkler heads, and small indicators on the flagsticks for front, middle or back pin placement. Open to the general public, The 500 Club also welcomes company outings and offers
separate men's, women's and junior programs, with individual and family passes available.
