	Inspired by the essence of Arizona - a land alive with the spirit of youth, yet filled with ancient western history - the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa provides guests with a glimpse of the the desert country's delightful contrasts. Guests at the resort will find hallways and venues paint a colorful portrait of Arizona's forebears - Native Americans, pioneers, artisans, rogues, explorers, and history makers.

		Marshall Trimble, Arizona's official state historian was recruited to guide the direction of the resort's theme. Located on the exclusive, 730-acre master-planned community of Kierland, the resort offers championship golf, upscale residences and dozens of shops, galleries and restaurants.


	GOLF AT KIERLAND

The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa offers 27 holes of championship Troon Golf™. Three 9 hole courses, offer several playing combinations and impeccible conditioning. A 2.5 million dollar renovation in 2002 added strategic placement of new bunkers, higher heather grasses and TifEagle greens. Play involves rolling fairways and elevation changes with many risk/reward shots.


	The course features a 19,000-square-foot clubhouse with an 1,800-square-foot pro shop, and men's and women's locker rooms feature spa amenities. The clubhouse brings further prestige to a facility that was already named Newcomer of the Year in 1998 and Most Improved Facility in 2000 by its management company, Troon Golf. Also, in 2002, the Kierland Golf Club was named one of the Top 100 Golf Shops by Golf World Business Magazine. The LaBauve Golf Academy on property features individualized instruction geared toward every member of the family.


	The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa offers the comprehensive Fore-Max golf training system. This program is a combination of top golf instruction at the LeBauve Golf Academy and excercise physiology with Steve Heller at Agave-The Arizona Spa. This one-of-a-kind training system is based on three distince areas of emphasis: flexibility, functional golf strength, and aerobic conditioning. It is designed to improve accuracy and distance off the tee while enhancing overall fitness.

	Luxury is the norm in accommodation at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa. The 735 spacious guest rooms at the resort includes 43 suites and 32 casitas. Each room features the luxurious Westin "Heavenly Bed" and "Heavenly Bath" and the decor celebrates the region's vibrant colors and textures, with subtle touches like carpet patterned after sand-swept desert and the use of indegenous stone tile.

		Agave - The Arizona Spa

	Named after an indigenous plant used for centuries by Native Americans and Asia for its healing properties, Agave-The Arizona Spa is a full service spa offering a variety of programs. Indigenous practices and plant life were simplified and placed in the vernacular of this spa setting, anchored by one of the most vital resources to Arizona natives and settlers - The Agave plant. Representing life, rebirth and logevity, the Agave graces the spa in decor, treatment offerings and personal touches.

Over 78,000 square feet of indoor function space, feaaturing high-speed Internet access via T-1 line connections, videoconferencing capabilities, satellite and on-site audio/video staff; plus extensive outdoor function areas ensure that the resort can accommodate events both large and small.


	A full-service business center is available as well as a 25,000 square foot Kierland Grand Ballroom and a 15,000 square foot Herberger Ballroom. The Kierland Grand Ballroom features 25-foot open ceilings and state-of-the-art innovations to allow for maximum flexibility and adaptability for events of all kinds.

	From Sky Harbor International Airport: Follow exit signs to West Sky Harbor Boulevard. Merge onto I-10 (West). Take Highway 51 North and exit on Greenway Boulevard. At exit turn right (East) onto Greenway Boulevard, which turns into Greenway Parkway. Take Greenway Parkway (East) for 5 miles. Resort is on the left.
